Coronavirus Crisis Fund £1000 grant
Our Coronavirus Crisis Fund has been set up to support projects within the areas believe housing operates in County Durham, that are tackling isolation and financial hardship during the Coronavirus outbreak.
Grants of up to £1000 will be available for community groups, schools or community organisations to help support the people in our communities at this time.
We have a limited number of these grants available, so please be aware that for some grant applications we may only be able to award up to £500.
We invite applications that provide help around the key areas of:
- Feeding people in the community – this can include foodbanks, help with shopping for vulnerable people, providing food packs to the community and projects that help families with food while free school meals are not available.
- Reducing isolation and keeping people connected – this can include wellbeing phone calls, creating online social groups, online activities and workshops , or delivering activity packs for families.
- Activities within the community – this can include outdoor sporting activities that needing extra equipment or help to social distance, projects requiring Personal Protective Equipment, so people can access them safely in line with government guidelines
We have a simple application process and a quick approval system allowing us to approve grant requests quickly
Please note the regular small grant programme, is on hold and only projects that can be delivered now under current government guidelines can be looked at.
We are looking for projects that enable groups to operate safely under government guidelines, this could be equipment for outdoor sporting activities while maintaining safe distances, or help to adapt indoor facilities to make safe to use under current safety conditions.
