believe housing shortlisted in safety awards

25 August 2021 - Latest news

A top safety and compliance awards event has shortlisted believe housing for no less than five accolades across three categories.

The Association of Safety and Compliance Professionals Awards recognises good practice and innovation in affordable housing and facilities management.

believe housing has made the final five nationally in the ‘Best Overall Organisation Response to Covid-19’ category. Judges in this category are looking for exceptional reactions to the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic. After picking up a similar title at the Northern Housing Awards earlier this year, the team at believe housing are hopeful of repeating their success.

Also in the running is Compliance Officer Emma Jorgenson, who has been shortlisted in the ‘Women in Safety and Compliance’ category. She was nominated for her sector-leading work in water safety and her role in mentoring apprentices in this highly technical field.

Also catching the judges’ attention are three of believe housing’s team members. Compliance apprentice Sinead Croucamp, electrical coordinator Jake Dowson and gas coordinator Rachel Copping-Summerson are all in the running for the ‘Rising Star Award’. All three have shown real commitment to learning new roles at believe housing and have shone in their work and studies.

Director of Property Repairs at believe housing, Rachel Cox, said: “Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, we’ve ensured that the safety of our customers has remained our top priority. Being shortlisted across different categories in the Safety and Compliance Awards is evidence of just how strong our performance has been during such challenging circumstances.

Ruth Dent, believe housing Director of Assets and Compliance, added: “So many of our staff have gone the extra mile this year to ensure safety of our homes and customers. We’re really proud that Emma, Jake, Rachel and Sinead are flying the flag for believe housing at these awards. Their efforts all deserve to be recognised.”

The winners of the annual Safety and Compliance Awards 2021 will be announced on Thursday, 23 September at an event in Telford.
