Competition launched to thousands of tenants

Durham City Homes have announced the official launch of their Garden Competition 2015.

For the fourth year running, Durham City Homes are holding their annual Garden Competition showcasing the best gardens and yards of their talented, green-fingered tenants.

The entries for the competition will be evaluated against three categories: ‘best floral containers’, ‘best garden’ and ‘best back yard or patio’, and will be assessed by a panel of judges made up of staff members and tenants.

The popular competition, which attracted 46 entries last year, will see judges visit each of the submissions before the top two entries in each category are chosen as winners. Tenants will also be invited to an awards ceremony later in the year to celebrate the competition entries and honour the winners.

Lynn Jordison, Chair of Durham City Homes Board, said: “This competition not only rewards tenants for the hard work they put into looking after their garden, but also helps to build positive relationships.”

Entries can be submitted by contacting the Involvement Team at or 0191 349 7629
