A new course on how to reduce fire risk is being held in Willington.

believe housing is hosting a free Fire Risk session, which offers vital training on recognising the common causes of fire, understanding how it behaves, plus how and when to use extinguishers.

On Tuesday, 2 November between 10am and 4pm at Cornerstone, on Brockwell Court in Willington, the course will also give greater understanding of when to try and tackle a fire, and when and how to evacuate safely.

All of the skills are intended to be useful in a variety of workplaces by anyone looking to develop an existing career, or find a new one.

believe housing Community Training Coordinator, Sean Robson, said: “Fire is one of the greatest risks any business can face. Having a good understanding of how to reduce risks and what to do in an emergency is an invaluable skill to have in so many roles.

“All of the skills covered during the course are intended to be useful in a variety of workplaces, so great for anyone looking to develop an existing career or find a new one.”

This is the latest in a series of courses being offered by believe housing to provide new learning opportunities to residents.  The Fire Risk course is free for group tenants and anyone who is unemployed.
