‘Time to get online’, which is delivered through a believe housing, Dale & Valley Homes, Durham City Homes, East Durham Homes and Teesdale Housing Association partnership, is a finalist in the 2016 TPAS (Tenant Participation Advisory Service) Awards.
The project has been acknowledged in the ‘Excellence in Digital Involvement’ category, for its work in the local community in helping people to build confidence, learn new skills and understand the benefits the internet offers.
Digital Inclusion Project Co-ordinator, Vickie Musgrove, is delighted to have been recognised.
She said: “There’s no escaping the fact that our world is evolving to an online platform, and for some people this can be a distressing prospect.
“Time to get online works closely with community groups and individuals to deliver bespoke training that can really make a difference to everyday life, and make people realise that the internet is not as daunting as it may appear.
“On behalf of our partners we look forward to finding out if we have been successful later this year.”
Winners will be announced at an awards evening on Friday, 29 April.
