Landlord warns tenants not to fall prey of bogus callers

11 July 2016 - Latest news

believe housing is warning residents to be on their guard following reports of a bogus caller in Crook.

A tenant of Dale & Valley Homes, one of the group’s three landlords, has been visited at home by someone claiming to work for the organisation, demanding money for work required to the roof.

Neighbourhoods Team Leader, Liz Bradley, is advising customers to be wary of people visiting without an appointment and asking for money.

She said: “All of our employees and contractors take great care when dealing with tenants and leaseholders, and will always provide some form of identification or carry out a security check to confirm their identity.

“If tenants are in any doubt about someone’s identity, we would urge them to refuse access and contact us on 0800 083 0333.”
