Two open days for low-cost homes are set to hit the villages of Wheatley Hill and Coundon during June.

believe housing is opening the doors to properties in both villages to highlight the variety of affordable homes available immediately in both areas.

In Wheatley Hill, a family home in Wordsworth Avenue is hosting an open day on Wednesday, 19 June between 11am and 5pm where attendees can find details of flats and houses in the village. Rents for homes in the area start at just £66.35 per week.

And in Coundon a property in Hambleton Road will be available for viewing on Wednesday, 26 June, again between 11am and 5pm. One-bedroom flats to three-bedroom family houses are available, with rents starting from £70.06 per week.

Both locations are close to local shops, facilities and primary schools, with excellent transport links.

believe housing has immediately available homes right across County Durham and in many cases it’s possible to pick up the keys in just one day.

Head of Housing Operations at believe housing, Simon Bartlett, said: “There are lots of options for anyone looking to find a low-cost home in County Durham. Our open days are designed to help more people understand how a housing association property could really help them. We’ve had lots of successes and have genuinely helped families into a new home on the same day.

“We’re hoping that we’ll be able to repeat that success during these open days in Coundon and Wheatley Hill.”
