A series of self-help videos are available to help customers carry out simple checks and tasks in their home.

The comprehensive range of self-help videos cover simple jobs that require a minimum of tools or materials. They provide practical advice on things like bleeding a radiator, unblocking a sink or lubricating a door lock.

The videos were created following the successful use of video calling during the first coronavirus lockdown in early 2020. The videos now cover a wide variety of regularly reported small repairs that can be safely completed by customers.

In this edition checks that can be simply and easily carried out on your central heating are available above. Now is a great time to double check that you won’t be without heat when frosty nights return. All of the self-help videos are available here.

Repairs Diagnostics Team Lead at believe housing, Damon Longstaff, said: “These high-quality, easy to follow videos cover the kind of jobs that are easy to manage with a minimum of tools, experience or materials and have no great costs involved.

“Particularly at this time of year, there are lots of little jobs that can be done around the home that might prevent a bigger problem over the coming months. A quick squirt of oil on a door lock or clearing leaves from a gully could make all the difference when the worst of winter arrives.

“I want to reassure customers though, that if you genuinely do have a safety related essential home repair that needs to be completed by one of our staff, we are still here, please just get in touch.”
