money guidance and support
Our dedicated team is here to offer free, confidential, and impartial money guidance and support to help your cash go further.
Our Money Matters guidance is free, confidential, and impartial.
Managing the financial responsibilities of a home can be difficult, from paying rent to budgeting your income.
Our Money Matters and Tenancy Sustainment Teams offer all believe housing customers a guidance service on all things money-related.
Whether you need support to find the right deal, help applying for benefits, or want some help to make your money go further, the right support guidance matters.
The records we keep are for the purposes of believe housing only. We will not disclose any information about your enquiry to anyone, and we will not pass on your information without your explicit permission.
Domestic abuse, financial abuse and debt
We know that domestic abuse can cause money problems. This includes rent arrears or other debts, especially where someone has been affected by financial or economic abuse.
If you are applying for housing or support and have debt that is linked to domestic or financial abuse, this will not automatically count against you. We will take the time to understand your situation and look at each case individually.
We will:
- Listen and treat you with respect and understanding
- Take a sensitive and supportive approach
- Make sure abuse‑related debt does not become a barrier to safe and secure housing
We can also help by offering, or putting you in touch with, debt advice and specialist support services, including organisations that support people affected by domestic abuse.
You can contact us in confidence, and we will work with you to look at the right options for you.
