Planned maintenance
There are some repairs that require specialist materials and/or equipment and further time to complete, so we need to plan this in via our planned improvements and maintenance service.
Modernising Homes with Planned Improvements
believe housing has developed the ‘Durham Standard’, which ensures that your home has modern facilities and is warm, weather-tight, and comfortable for you to live in.
Properties will usually have been identified as needing work to bring them up to standard via planned improvements.
The work carried out could consist of any or all of the following, depending upon the age and condition of the home:
- rewiring
- new UPVC windows
- new external doors
- new kitchen units
- new bathroom fittings
- new roof
- new central heating
- energy efficiency measures.
Things you can do to prepare for your survey:
- ensure our surveyor can inspect all rooms at the time of the visit
- clear access to your fuse board and boiler
- keep pets under control or shut away during the visit
- clear your garden or yard of rubbish, dog mess and other hazards
- don’t smoke inside during the surveyor’s visit
- be aware that the surveyor may need to take photographs inside and outside your home, but not of you or your personal belongings.
