Horticulture and Estates Apprentice

salary: £19,000 per annum location: Bishop Auckland, Seaham

We’re on the lookout for a Horticultural and Estates apprentice to start in September 2025.

You will be part of the Horticultural and Estates Team and you will be required to complete a program of development and training in Neighbourhoods to ensure our estates and void properties are maintained to a high standard.

By working in partnership with East Durham College we have successfully recruited enthusiastic and talented apprentices and we are delighted to be helping to develop young people and adults to gain the necessary skills and qualifications to enhance their careers.

The successful candidate will work towards the Level 2 Horticultural Apprenticeship, this is an 18-month programme.

Working towards or hold a full driving licence will be required for the role.

Minimum requirements

  • If you’re under 19, you must have Level 2 qualifications in English and maths (GCSE grade 4/C or Functional Skills).
  • If you are 19 or over, you will not need to demonstrate Maths and English at Level 2. However, strong numeracy and literacy skills are still essential to successfully complete the apprenticeship standards.
