believe housing has been recognised nationally for its commitment to keeping customers and communities safe.
The not-for-profit landlord, which has more than 18,000 homes across the northeast of England, was shortlisted in two categories at the Resolve ASB Awards 2025, which celebrate the best of the UK’s community safety sector.
The Safer Neighbourhoods Team was runner-up in the Team of the Year category, and its Team Leader, Amanda Fulcher, placed second in Practitioner of the Year.
In 2023-24, the team managed 811 antisocial behaviour cases, supporting victims, including survivors of domestic abuse, and collaborating with local partners to, whenever possible, resolve issues early, taking enforcement action when necessary.
Amanda, who has worked in the housing sector for about 30 years, was recognised for her dedication to customers and her ability to build connections that lead to results.
Helen Wilson, Regional Managing Director at southern-based housing association Abri and category judge, said: “Amanda is clearly a leader and team player. Amanda produces results, tackles complex cases, and is customer focused.
“I can see that Amanda goes above and beyond to provide a personal experience, and to really understand issues and resolve them so customer, neighbours and the organisation’s interests are met as far as possible.”
Ian Porter, Director of Neighbourhoods & Customer Experience at believe housing, said: “We are incredibly proud of the Safer Neighbourhoods Team and Amanda. “They work tirelessly, often in challenging circumstances, to support victims and resolve issues, creating safer, more sustainable neighbourhoods.
“Their interventions have made a profound difference to many lives, earning the trust of customers and partners while always putting victims first.”
The team is also a partner in Durham Police and Crime Commissioner’s ASB Victims’ Champion initiative, which won the Exemplary Partnership Award.
