What do you want to look at?
These surveys help us to check the age and condition of parts of your home, both internal and external.
We will look at major elements such as the kitchen, bathroom, heating system, windows, doors, and roof.
Photographs may be taken of these elements, but not of you or your personal belongings.
Why are these surveys important?
Keeping this information up to date helps us to plan future investments.
Our surveyors cannot advise you if or when elements of your home will be replaced, during their visit.
We will contact customers separately if any future works need to be arranged.
Will an appointment be made?
Our surveyors, Davy and Paul, and contractors from property specialist Savills will work in selected areas at a time.
An appointment is therefore not needed, in the first instance.
If you are at home when they call, please allow them to complete the survey.
If you’re out when our surveyor calls, they will leave a card and return at a later date.
Surveyors cannot report or inspect any routine repairs during this visit. You should continue to report these to believe housing by calling 0300 1311 999 or using our customer portal.
How can customers help?
To help us complete surveys as quickly and smoothly as possible please:
• Ensure our surveyor can inspect all rooms at the time of the visit
• Clear access to your fuse board and boiler
• Keep pets under control or shut away during the visit
• Make sure your garden or yard is clear of rubbish, dog mess and other hazards
• Don’t smoke inside during the surveyor’s visit – your tenancy agreement requires you not to smoke when anyone from believe housing or a contractor visits your home
• Be aware that the surveyor may need to take photographs inside and outside your home, but not of you or your personal belongings.
How to check the caller is genuine
All believe housing employees and contractors carry identification, so please ask to see this before letting them in.
Before entering they will check nobody in the home has coronavirus or is isolating.
If you have any concerns, contact believe housing on 0300 1311 999.
