Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) surveys
We carry out EPC surveys to help assess how energy-efficient your home is and identify ways to improve it.
What is an EPC survey?
An EPC survey measures the energy efficiency of your home. It gives your property a rating from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient) and includes recommendations for improvements.
These surveys are part of our commitment to reducing energy use, lowering bills and the planning of future upgrades to improve comfort and efficiency
What will the surveyor check?
A qualified energy assessor will inspect:
- heating systems and controls
- insulation levels
- windows and glazing
- construction materials
- lighting and ventilation.
FAQs
The survey usually takes around 30 minutes. We’ll need access to all rooms, and the surveyor may take photos of fixtures and fittings – but never of your personal belongings.
Please note the survey does not cover day-to-day repairs. If you need to report a repair please contact us.
Surveys are completed by a mix of believe housing surveyors and approved external contractors. All surveyors will carry official ID—please ask to see it before letting anyone into your home.
There’s no need to move furniture or prepare your home in advance.
Just:
- make sure we can access all rooms
- keep pets under control or safely shut away
- don’t smoke during the visit (as per your tenancy agreement).
You’ll receive advance notice when we’re due to be in your area.
Any improvements identified will help us plan for future programmes of home energy improvements, and we are currently focusing on those homes C and below.
