At believe housing, we’re proud to be one of the North East’s largest housing associations. Our vision is simple but powerful: we believe in a life without barriers. Everything we do is driven by our values: to do the right thing – for our customers, our colleagues, and our business which means we place people at the heart of our work, and we’re committed to making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.
We are looking for someone who shares our vision and values, can see the bigger picture and work constructively with others. An understanding of the challenges facing communities in County Durham is important, as is a genuine commitment to inclusion, customer focus, and strong governance.
You’ll be a confident communicator with a natural curiosity and a willingness to ask insightful questions. Whilst you may have experience is areas such as customer service, risk, compliance or asset management, the Board is well balanced in terms of experience, so we do not need to be prescriptive about your professional or sector background. We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds and whether you are early in your career or bring a wealth of experience, what matters most is your alignment with our values and your desire to make a meaningful contribution.
As a member of our Board, you’ll be part of a friendly, inclusive, and effective team that values diverse perspectives and lived experience. We foster an environment where people feel empowered to bring their whole selves to the table, knowing their views are respected and their contributions make a real difference.
