Tax and Funding Specialist

We’re on the lookout for a Tax and Funding Specialist to join the believe housing team on a 12-month fixed term basis.

Although this role is advertised as full-time, we will consider part-time, job share and alternative working pattern proposals where possible.

Where and when you work is flexible depending on the demands of your role, our customers’ needs and your individual work preference (as agreed with your manager).

Our offices are based in Seaham and Bishop Auckland and although we work flexibly, it is envisaged that this role will require both an offsite and onsite presence as per business need when required.

About the role

Tax and Funding Specialist you will provide a high-quality service to all stakeholders.

The successful candidate will:

• Deputise for the Senior Taxation and Treasury Specialist in their absence.
• Liaise with HMRC and internal and external auditors for VAT matters.
• Prepare payments for manager approval in the business ordering system, covering payments relating to VAT and interest payments.
• Update financial control models maintained and owned by other Finance Teams promptly.
• Deliver financially viable and economically effective services, seeking to gain maximum benefit from the use of resources and increasing social value.
• Provide accurate and prompt advice and guidance to colleagues in all parts of the business on VAT and other taxation matters.
