hate crime

A hate crime is any unwanted conduct based upon the actual or perceived race, colour, religion, national and ethnic origin, gender, age, disability, or sexual orientation of another individual or group that is intimidating, upsetting, embarrassing, humiliating or offensive, and which affects someone’s dignity.

This may include verbal or physical abuse, threatening behaviour, malicious communications, damage to property or possessions, arson or attempted arson.

believe housing works closely with the police and other agencies to monitor the types of incidents reported and where they have taken place. This helps us to take appropriate action on our estates. If you see a hate crime being committed, call it out by reporting it to us and the police. We’ll work together to make our communities a safer place in which to live.
