board member vacancies

5 October 2021 - Latest news

believe housing is looking for two new board members to help lead the organisation and deliver a life without barriers for its customers.

Two new non-executive directors are being sought who can bring new experience and professional skills to the board room at believe housing. The successful candidates will be expected to have a strong background in working with a variety of stakeholders to deliver results and experience of operating at a senior level in a large and complex organisation. Previous board experience is not a requirement.

The role will require a commitment of around two-days per month and includes moderate remuneration for the time.

Chair of the Board at believe housing, Judith Common, said: “We’re not necessarily looking for someone with skills or experience in the affordable housing sector. What we’re really keen to find are people who have extensive life experience and skills that can work together as part of the team at believe housing.

“We’ve already achieved some great things. Customer satisfaction is high, and we’ve won a string of awards for our work, but we want to go on and do so much more. We’re searching for people who want to make a difference and share our commitment to improving homes, communities and lives across in the north east.

“These new roles come at a really important time for believe housing and they offer a tremendous opportunity to be at the heart of the organisation during exciting times.”

More information on the non-executive director roles is available here. The closing date for applications is Thursday, 21 October.
