Apprentice Risk and Assurance Assistant

We’re on the lookout for an Apprentice Risk and Assurance Assistant to join our team in September 2026 for 18 months.
This is a great opportunity to start your career, gaining hands-on experience while working towards a recognised Level 3 Business Administration qualification.
What this role is all about
As part of our Risk and Assurance team, you’ll play a key role in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes, you’ll be right at the heart of the department, supporting a wide range of activities.
You’ll learn on the job while getting involved in:
- logging claims
- completing meeting notes and ensuring all documentation is complete
- supporting the Insurance team with records, claims and queries.
- assisting the Business Continuity team to plan for the unexpected (think incidents, disruptions and “what if?” scenarios)
- getting stuck into debriefs so the organisation can learn, adapt and become stronger
- working with people across the business, building confidence and learning how different teams operate

What you’ll learn
During your apprenticeship, you’ll gain practical experience and develop skills in:
- project coordination and communication skills
- building positive relationships with stakeholders and delivering great customer service
- using digital systems to manage data and records (e.g. updating records, producing documents, and basic data analysis/reporting)
- Understanding organisational culture and development.
What we’re looking for
We don’t expect you to know everything — this is a learning role — but we’re looking for someone who is:
- curious, enthusiastic and eager to learn
- organised with good attention to detail
- A confident communicator, both written and verbal
- friendly and focused on providing great customer service
- comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- willing to ask questions and take on feedback
- interested in a career in Risk and Assurance
Minimum requirements
GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or above
Please note: applicants must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject.
