Important information: Universal Credit customers must report any changes to housing costs on or soon after Monday, 3 April 2023

As believe housing will now charge rent and service charges (except for those in Rent to Buy or shared ownership properties) over 52 weeks, customers in receipt of Universal Credit should report a ‘change of circumstances’ on your journal. This is to ensure you report rent across a 52 week period.

Please follow this handy step by step guide to update your housing costs.

Unlike in previous years, please do not use the ‘confirm tenant’s housing costs’ to do list sent to you from the DWP. This will not report the change to the 52 payment period and may result in underpayments of housing costs.
